Insel Mariannenaue "THX BOB" Chardonnay Reserve

The Chardonnay comes from our oldest Chardonnay vines, planted in 1978, making them among the oldest Chardonnay plantings in Germany. The history behind them is quite extraordinary: the vines came to Mariannenaue through a collaboration between His Royal Highness Prince Friedrich Nikolaus of Prussia and Robert Mondavi from California, who brought Chardonnay material to the island and experimented with the variety together with the Prince.
